Monday - Hollywood Studios & Magic Kingdom

Monday morning we headed out to Hollywood Studios! We at Walt Disney: One Man's Dream, which the kids found really boring, but Paul and I enjoyed it. Then we headed back to the Studio Backlot Tour and that was a lot of fun! The kids really loved all of the water stunts and the tram ride through the studio. We then came across Mike from Monster's Inc. and Alex was excited to give him a high five and get his picture with him. Lucas was pretty leary, however and wouldn't go anywhere near him! We went to Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground after that had a pretty bad scare where we thought we lost Alex! That place is neat, but there are so many little hiding spots. We spent 20 minutes looking for him and unfortuantely the staff was not very helpful. :( I don't think I've ever been so happy to see him after we finally did find him.

We took a break for lunch and then went to The Magic of Disney Animation building. While we were there the boys got to meet Mickey Mouse and the characters from the new Disney movie "Up"! I wasn't sure if Lucas would say hi to Mickey or not, but he went up to him with his arms open wide for a big hug! The boys had fun after that doing some of the computer games.

We then tried to do the Rock n' Roller Coaster. The line was really long and they don't do the parent switch on it so we went back over to the Animation Courtyard and went to the Playhouse Disney Live show. This was their favorite thing of the day! They got to see all of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse characters, plus Handy Manny, Tigger and Pooh and the Little Einsteins. Both boys got up and danced and cheered. It was really cute!

There was still a lot to do at Hollywood Studios, but the boys were tired so we headed back to the room for some rest. We'll go back another day to finish up the attractions we missed. After a snack and a nap for Lucas, we headed to the bus stop and took the bus over to the Magic Kingdom. We had dinner at Cosmic Ray's, where we got to watch Sunny Eclipse (robotic alien) perform. Alex thought he was great! Afterwards, we rode the racecars in Tomorrowland. I don't think Alex could have been any more excited. Lucas got to ride along with me, too, and he loved it. Unfortunately we had to leave after that. We didn't realize that the park closed at 9:00 because it was Memorial Day. Took the bus back to our room and went to bed for the night. Excited about seeing Epcot tomorrow!

The start of our trip, going well.

Well, we're on our way. As I write this we're an hour out from Kennesaw where we'll stop for the night.

We hit the Corvette Musem this morning, Alex had a super-blast. We weren't going to do the actual tour, but the boys were free and Alex ran into the exhibits. He couldn't stop, he kept talking to everyone in the building!

We stopped and DeAnna and her girls with her new husband, Brian. It was a nice visit. We sat outside at the strangest outside McDee's playarea. The boys played HARD.

Lucas took a little nap in the car and Alex keeps nodding off. They so far have been great. But it's pretty easy in this nice, big car with the DVD player.

Here are some early pics. The first is from a rest stop right inside GA. Wish we had views like this in Fishers! :)

Sunday - On the way to Disney!

We continued our trip Sunday from Atlanta to Orlando. It was a little harder than the day before. Both kids were tired of riding and we made more stops than we would have liked. About an hour before we got to Orlando it started pouring down rain and continued until just after we checked into our resort, Coronado Springs. After unloading, we headed out to eat at the Pepper Market for dinner. Thank goodness we have the Disney dining plan! Food inside Disney is expensive!! Paul and I took advantage of the plan and had ribeye steaks for dinner. Yum! After dinner we parked at the Polynesian and got on the monorail, which both boys thought was great! Got to bed pretty late, but excited to start off the next day in one of the parks!
